Platform

SDS software that traces every step from supplier PDF to published SDS

Valenc streamlines the SDS creation process by reading supplier documents, structuring product data, classifying according to each jurisdiction's rules, drafting SDSs in your required languages, and monitoring regulatory changes. AI handles reading and drafting, while a deterministic rules engine manages classification. Final approval is always completed by a person before publication.

Begin with the product, not a template

Most SDS software relies on templates you must complete. Valenc begins with your product's composition, substances, properties, and supporting supplier documents. All classifications, SDSs, transport details, and regional or language variants are generated from this single record.

When a formulation changes, update the record once and Valenc identifies what requires review. There is no need to track down every document referencing the previous value.

How the platform works

Extract

SDS Indexing processes any supplier SDS, regardless of system or template, and delivers structured substance data with at least 98% field accuracy and confidence scores for each field. You review and approve the extraction alongside the source document.

Classify

A deterministic rules engine applies the selected jurisdiction's GHS rules, including additivity formulas, concentration cut-offs, bridging principles, and harmonised classifications, with built-in substance screening. Each classification is directly linked to the specific GHS regulation used, ensuring full traceability for audits and compliance.

Classify for transport

The product record is evaluated against transport criteria to determine shipping regulations and required descriptions.

Author

Classified data populates each SDS section, with global GHS phrases available in over 25 languages from a curated library.

Review and monitor

A review agent checks each section, highlights field confidence, and identifies items needing your approval before publishing. After publication, monitoring agents track OSHA, EPA, REACH, CLP, and other regulatory lists in all regions you serve, flagging affected SDSs when rules change.

AI handles reading and drafting, but not classification

Language models excel at reading complex PDFs and drafting text, but are not suitable for determining hazard classifications such as Category 1 skin sensitizers. Valenc uses AI only where probabilistic, verifiable answers are appropriate: extracting data, drafting language, and reviewing drafts. Hazard classification follows published rules, ensuring consistent results and full traceability for audits.

Designed for the product steward responsible for SDS approval

No SDS is published without human approval. Valenc presents a queue of exceptions for review, such as low-confidence fields, classifications based on borderline concentrations, or SDSs impacted by recent rule changes. Your team focuses on key decisions, eliminating unnecessary typing and delays.

Regulatory coverage

Valenc 1.0 applies jurisdiction-specific rules for more than 80 jurisdictions, including OSHA HazCom under HCS 2024 in the United States, CLP and REACH Annex II in the EU, WHMIS under the amended Hazardous Products Regulations in Canada, and NOM-018 in Mexico, with UN GHS Revision 11 as the reference framework.

Integrates with your existing systems

Valenc is the platform for classifying and authoring SDSs, not an additional repository. All fields are accessible via REST API, with free, on-demand structured exports. Your existing library imports through SDS Indexing in weeks, not months. Integrate with your ERP, PLM, or EHS system and access data as needed. If you leave, all your data remains yours.

Your formulations remain private

Compositions, documents, and all data you upload to Valenc are never used to train any AI models. Your data remains isolated to your account and is used solely for your requested tasks.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is SDS software?

SDS software enables chemical manufacturers to efficiently create, classify, review, and maintain safety data sheets. Today's advanced platforms go beyond document creation, providing automated extraction of supplier data, precise classification according to jurisdiction-specific rules, streamlined management of transport requirements, and proactive tracking of regulatory updates.

What does Valenc do?

Valenc automates the extraction of data from supplier SDSs, applies a deterministic GHS rules engine for precise classification, generates review-ready SDSs in more than 25 languages, and continuously monitors regulatory sources to flag affected SDSs when changes occur. Designed for product stewards, EHS professionals, and regulatory teams, Valenc streamlines and safeguards the entire SDS lifecycle.

How does Valenc use AI?

Valenc leverages AI to read supplier documents, extract relevant data, and draft SDS content. However, hazard classification is exclusively determined by a deterministic rules engine to ensure accuracy and traceability. Every SDS is reviewed and approved by a qualified person before publication.

Does Valenc store and distribute SDSs like an SDS management system?

Valenc is designed for the classification and authoring of SDSs, maintaining your product records and generated SDSs with full API access to all fields. It complements, rather than replaces, workplace SDS management or distribution systems by integrating seamlessly with them.

Which regulations and jurisdictions does Valenc support?

Valenc 1.0 covers over 80 jurisdictions, including the US, EU, UK, Canada, and Mexico, and applies the relevant GHS classification rules for each region.

How long does implementation take?

Implementation takes just weeks. Your current SDS library is imported and structured using the SDS Indexing extraction engine, eliminating manual re-keying and lengthy consulting projects.
